Bella Cullen’s Birthday is approaching and what better way to celebrate than to head out to see Eclipse with all your Twi-Friends? Well, if you live in certain areas of Canada you’ll have the chance. Here is the statement:

“VANCOUVER — We’re guessing that only the most dedicated Twihards are aware that Bella Swan’s birthday falls on Sept. 13, but eOne entertainment is making sure everyone celebrates the momentous occasion: they’re re-releasing The Twilight Saga: Eclipse into theatres.

Yes, beginning Sept. 10, the Cullens won’t be the only ones throwing Bella a party – you, too, can wish her a happy birthday by going to see Eclipse for the umpteenth time. 
That is, if you live in the right places.

I had rushed to Planet Hollywood at a little past 2:00pm, thinking I was going to be really late for the Sugar Factory appearance, and it didn:t help very much that I had my 16-month old in tow. I found “Princess Parking” on the 4th floor and expertly unfolded the stroller. So there I was, rushing through the Miracle Mile Shopping area, pushing the stroller like a professional F-1 racer through the crowds. But when I got to the Sugar Factory at a little past 2:30pm, I discovered that there was still an awaiting crowd.

I leisurely got tothe back of the make-shift line, and as unsuspecting tourists walked by, they all asked the same question – “What’s this line for?” to which I answered, “Some of the actors from Twilight are here .”

Reactions varied from “OMG! I have to take pics!” to “Twilight? Meh” to “What’s Twilight?” (Seriously? Are you just visiting our planet?) One guy who was part of what seemed to be a group of college students said,”Really? Who? I’m Team Edward”. He wasn’t gay, but I had to raise an eyebrow in question.

Just before Alex, Tinsel, and Julia arrived, the store was blocked off by a rope, and whatever line had formed in the beginning was rendered useless. Everyone ran andcrowded by the roped area, some of whom were professional photographers. Having had the disadavantage of having a stroller, I scurried off to the side. Had it not been for the fact that I had no pressing need to secure a prime spot for photos, I may have wrestled my way through the crowd along with my son (hahaha).

This was the first time I had gone to an “appearance” and it definitely wasn’t what I expected. Maybe I had become spoiled by the conventions, but I had assumed that there would have been time for the fans to take photos and get autographs, but the arrangement definitely did not cater to that.

We all snapped away, flashes lighting up in every section along the dividing rope. It was like a press conference / red carpet event at a candy store! Alex, Julia, and Tinsel were taken through the store, and it looked as though the store employees were explaining about some of the products. The highlight candy was definitely the lolly with a reusable bling-bling stick (or at least that’s what I call it but they’re actually called “Couture Lollipop”). Each actor was given this special lollipop (which you can purchase at $22 ~ $25 per candy only at the Sugar Factory) and they purchased several choice items as well (unless these were gifts too – couldn’t really tell). Each took turns in front of the crowd (i.e. the cameras) and posed with Sugar Factory lollies.

Alex was being his usual entertaining self and posed with a bling-bling lollipop in his mouth, while Tinsel opted for the more lady-like approach and posed with her own sparkly lollipop in hand. Julia strolled around the store (which is not very big) with a big Sugar Factory bag, smiling coyly as flashes continued to go off at quick intervals.

After singing a few posters for the store, Tinsel took a little time to pose for pictures with some fans. Yazzie (EyeBehold) was there to, taking pictures from the other side of the rope. As he came closer to the area where  was standing, I got his attention and asked him if he would give Julia a pendant that I made for her (yes, I’d been a Julia fan from the first time I watched “Black Cloud” several years ago). I gave one to Tinsel as well since I didn’t give her anything on her last birthday.

Julia remained standing back and smiled for the cameras while Alex finished up with getting his huge bag of sweets, so I decided to stay back and watched the others squeeze through to take more photos. Meanwhile, my son started to complain as it seemed like he was never going to get his gelatto.

When it was time for the actors to leave the candy store, the crowd followed them, but were buffered by the bodyguards. The actors bid the fans goodbye as they filed through the crowd, still being followed by more fans. The candy shop cleared so quickly that it was borderline amusing to watch. My son clapped (out of habit) and poited at the candy store, so as I watched the crowd of fans disappear around the corner, I took my son into Sugar Factory and enjoyed a mango gelatto (it was REALLY good!!).

While we’ve already gotten news this week of a brand new cast member on set for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (read more about that here if you missed it), we now have some good news about a veteran cast member who is confirmed to return for Breaking Dawn! Well, for part one, at least. Michael Welch, who plays the role of human Mike Newton in the Twilight Saga films, has just confirmed (via his official Twitter page) that he will be back for the first part of the closing installment of the saga. No word on part two yet. Check out his confirmation below:
