Summit replaces editor on ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

Posted By Tai

summitSummit Entertainment, the studio behind the uber-successful Twilight series, confirmed this morning that it has replaced Eclipse editor Art Jones with Nancy Richardson, the editor of Catherine Hardwicke’s original Twilight film. The studio is not placing blame on Jones, who previously worked with Eclipse director David Slade on his horror film 30 Days of Night as well as Slade’s Ellen Page-starrer Hard Candy. They do believe, however, that Slade’s material – which they call “very good” – needed a stronger edit. The studio has more confidence in Richardson, who they say understands the emotion of the characters and is an ace at balancing action with the other elements of the film.
Richardson recently completed Miley Cyrus’ upcoming romantic drama The Last Song. Eclipse is scheduled to debut on June 30.

100 Monkeys Cover the March Issue Of Portrait Magazine!

Picture1-20In this interview by Kat from Portrait Magazine the 100 Monkeys (Jackson Rathbone’s band) talk about their involvement with the upcoming Spencer Bell Legacy concert and their current 100 cities tour. Readers were also able to submit their own questions. Thanks so much to Vivien for sending this into me & always keeping me updated on the 100 Monkeys!

Hi Guys. Could you tell us about the Spencer Bell Legacy concert? How did you get involved?
The members of 100 Monkeys have been working with the Bell family and Dr. Gary Hammer for a few years now, putting on the legacy shows and trying to spread the word of Spencer’s music and art since he passed away in 2006. We got involved because many of us were personal friends of Spencer’s, and bringing his music to other people means a lot to us.

Can you tell our readers a little about Adrenal cancer and what an orphan cancer is?
Adrenal cancer is very rare compared to other more common cancers, and as a result it gets less public attention and receives less funding for research. Because of the way it starts and can spread through the body, it is frequently discovered in its later stages, and is frequently fatal.
(Note from Editor: The symptoms of early Adrenal Cancer can mimic other common health problems, and there is no standardized testing. Most often it is found when looking for something else.)

At the end of the day what do you most want to inspire in people through this concert?
It means a lot to us when we hear that listening to Spencer’s music or reading his writing has inspired someone to pull their guitar out of the closet or start writing again. Anyone can create art and get satisfaction from the process, and when people come together as a group to celebrate and appreciate an artist’s life and work, it can make you believe in yourself too.

In addition to the Spencer Bell Legacy Concert and raising awareness for Adrenal Cancer, what are some other charities and causes you feel strongly about?
Autism Speaks and Acts of Love are both causes we have supported. A couple of us (Ben Graupner and Ben Johnson) have worked as therapists with autistic children in the past, and we have a lot of awareness of autism in society today.

Jacob Black Barbie Design Flaw

Posted By Tai

jacobbarbieoops1One of the things we love about John Henson who has created the Twilight Costume Collection (filled with actual and replica costumes from the movies) is John’s attention to detail. Seriously nothing, and we do mean NOTHING gets by John. He wants things down to the lining in the jacket to be correct.  If you doubt us just ask him about Bella’s St. Jude’s bracelet and you will get a whole lesson in beads, pictures, stringing etc.

John is also the mastermind who designed the costumes for the Hillywood Show’s New Moon parody. John even has a bit part in the video where he plays the tattoo artist. He was so well camouflaged we didn’t even realize that it was him at first!

Anyway, John came to us with a very interesting piece of information the other day. John wrote, “I’m not sure if you’ve seen it or if it’s been brought to your attention, but Mattel’s new “Jacob Black” doll has his Quileute tribal tattoo painted UPSIDE DOWN on his arm. I noticed it when the first prototype pictures were being posted on the internet, and I didn’t call Mattel because I figured that EVERYTHING would change on the actual consumer model. WRONG! I picked up two dolls for the collection yesterday and I was a bit miffed. I can see the oversight…the tattoo is very complex and when your dealing with a replica that’s 1/4” scale…blah, blah. So, I called Mattel this morning. I talked to a lovely gal named Linda who took all of my information. I told her how important this little detail is to the fans and she’s getting the query to the “engineers” immediately. So…feel free to post this information so everyone can run out and buy this initial run of Jacob dolls…it was a limited supply run and now with this error they might be little investments for the future!!!”

So far Mattel hasn’t called back. it will be interesting to see it they fix this in the next run, as John says the “flawed dolls” could be a collectible.

Madame Tussauds To Add Robert Pattinson to Their Collection

Posted By Tai

R-Patz-clay-2-DefaultPerhaps the world’s most famous wax museum is adding Robert Pattinson to their Hollywood stars collection in their flagship, London museum. The price for this in American dollars is roughly $225,000. According to the museum’s site:

“We expect to spark fan frenzy today as we’ve just confirmed the next actor to be admitted into our attraction is the hottest celebrity of the moment, Brit born A-lister and star of the phenomenally successful Twilight saga, Robert Pattinson. The wax figure of the British heartthrob will be revealed in March, ahead of the release of his latest film, Remember Me, in early April.

The studios team are busy recreating R-Pattz’s trademark sultry expression and messy hair, whilst the figure’s outfit will reflect his rugged style with an open collared shirt and skinny trousers. The figure making process takes four months of intense work to complete at a cost of £150,000. …”

See the rest at the museum’s main site. No word if they will also commission versions for their New York and Las Vegas museums.
